The stairlift

Otolift Modul-Air Smart

A single-tube rail, mounted to the steps rather than the wall. It is the narrowest curved rail on the market, which is exactly why it works in homes where the staircase was never designed to share space.

Every rail is measured, manufactured and finished for one staircase only — yours.

Modul-Air Smart

Fits narrow staircases

The slimmest curved rail available, so there is still room to walk up beside it.

Left or right mounting

Fitted to whichever side keeps your doorways, windows and landings clear.

Folds flat when parked

Seat, footrest and armrests fold away. An optional hinged rail clears the bottom step entirely.

Works in a power cut

Battery driven and charging at every stop, so the lift still takes you down if the power goes.

Quiet, steady ride

Soft start and stop with a powered swivel seat that turns you safely onto the landing.

Finishes to match the home

A range of upholstery and rail colours, chosen so the lift reads as furniture, not equipment.

Who it's for

Who can benefit from a stairlift?

Most people call us about someone they love. If any of these sound familiar, a stairlift is worth a conversation.

Older adults

The staircase is usually the first part of the home to feel unsafe. A stairlift removes that daily risk without anyone having to move house.

Knee pain or joint problems

Arthritis, hip and knee conditions turn every step into a decision. The lift takes the load off the joints entirely.

Recovering from surgery or injury

Keep the whole house available while you heal, then decide later whether to keep the lift permanently.

Reduced mobility

For anyone using a stick, a frame or a wheelchair downstairs, the upper floor stays part of the home rather than out of reach.

Families planning ahead

Fitted before a fall happens rather than after one. It is the most common reason our customers tell us they finally picked up the phone.

Pricing

What decides the price of your stairlift

No two staircases are the same, so there is no single price. These are the four things that shape your quotation — and every one of them is confirmed at the free home assessment before you commit to anything.

Layout

The shape of your staircase. A single straight flight is the simplest. Bends, landings and spirals need a rail manufactured for that staircase alone.

Turns

How many changes of direction. Each turn adds rail length, tooling and installation time.

Options

Customisation. Hinged rail, powered swivel seat, upholstery and rail colour are chosen by you and itemised in the quotation.

Site

Conditions in the home. Narrow entries, tight landings or an unusual step profile can affect how long the installation takes.

Every quotation is personalised

We price your staircase, not an average one. Here is what you receive.

From enquiry to first ride

Four steps, and most of them are ours

You make one call. We handle the measuring, the manufacturing and the fitting.

Step 01

Talk it through

A call or a WhatsApp message. You speak to someone who knows the staircase, who will tell you what it costs and when you need it.

Step 02

Free home visit

We measure the stairs, check clearances and confirm the mounting side. You get a written quotation, not a pressure pitch.

Step 03

Built for your stairs

Your rail is manufactured to the measurements taken on site, in your chosen colour and upholstery.

Step 04

Fitted and demonstrated

Our installers fit the lift, test it with you on board, and stay until everyone in the house can operate it confidently.

Why Upstairs

Buy from the
distributor, not a reseller

Anyone can import a stairlift. Being appointed by the manufacturer changes what happens after the money has changed hands.

Local

Servicing and maintenance in Singapore

Annual servicing, safety checks, battery replacement and breakdown callouts are handled by our own team here — with common parts held locally, so a repair doesn’t become a six-week wait. See our service plans.

Genuine

Authorised Otolift distributor

Factory-supplied units, genuine spare parts and a warranty that is honoured locally rather than argued about.

Our own

Installers trained by Otolift

No subcontracted crews. The team that measures your staircase is the team that fits the lift.

Honest

We’ll tell you if it isn’t right

If a staircase is genuinely unsuitable, or a lift isn’t the answer for the person who’ll use it, we say so at the assessment.

From our customers

The stairs stopped being the problem

Rated 5 out of 5

My mother had stopped going upstairs to her own bedroom. The curved rail was measured on a Tuesday and fitted a few weeks later, and she uses it every day without help.

Adeline T.

Bukit Timah, terrace home

Rated 5 out of 5

We were worried the staircase was too narrow. The team came, measured, and showed us it would still leave room to walk past. Honest advice from the first visit.

Mr & Mrs Lim

Serangoon, HDB maisonette

Rated 5 out of 5

Installed in one morning and they didn’t leave until my father could operate it on his own. The follow-up service call came without us chasing.

Common questions

Before you enquire

Still unsure about something? Send a photo of your staircase on WhatsApp and we’ll answer directly.

Price depends on whether the rail is straight or curved, how many turns it makes and the options you choose. A straight rail is the most affordable; a curved rail is manufactured for one staircase only, so it is quoted after we measure. Our indicative starting prices are published on the pricing page.

Usually, yes. The Otolift Modul-Air Smart uses a single-tube rail mounted to the steps rather than the wall, which is the narrowest curved rail on the market. We confirm the exact clearance at the free home visit before anything is ordered.

Yes. Because the rail fixes to the steps and not to the wall, most HDB maisonettes and terrace homes are straightforward. We check the step profile and landing on site and tell you plainly if your staircase is not suitable.

Most straight staircases are installed in a single day. A curved rail is manufactured to your measurements first, so there is a lead time before fitting, and the installation itself usually takes a little longer.

The lift is battery driven and charges at every stop, so it keeps working in a power cut and will still take you down. Batteries are the one part that wears out on schedule, and we replace them as part of servicing.

Yes. We handle annual servicing, safety inspections, breakdown callouts and battery replacement with our own team. Common spare parts are held locally, so most faults are fixed on the first visit.
